Raisin Bread

Preheat oven at 250°C. (500°F.)
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Rising time: 3 hours
Baking time: 30 minutes


Ingredients :

For 1 loaf :

400 g (4 cups) pastry flour
80 g (3/4 cup)
sugar 100 g (3 1/2 oz.) raisins
2 packets baker's yeast
1 packet baking powder Water

Method :

​

1. In a bowl, place the raisins to soak in warm water.
2. Mix the flour with the sugar, yeast and enough water to form a thick dough.
3. Knead the dough; when it becomes smooth, form it into a ball. Add a little more flour if necessary so that it doesn't stick to your fingers.
4. Flatten the dough with your hand, sprinkle the drained raisins over top and knead again.
5. Form into a ball again and let rise 3 hours.
6. With a sharp knife, cut a criss-cross pattern into the surface of the bread to facilitate baking.
7. Place in a very hot oven to bake for 30 minutes.
