Pickles
Ingredients :

1 cup tomatoes (28 oz)
2/3 cup white sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup pickling spicees (tied in chese cloth)
2 tsp salt
8 cups chopped onions
(peeled chopped apples may be substitued for 2 cups onion)

Method :

Put tomatoes in pot and chop the larger pieces with edge of spoon. Add sugar,vinegar,salt and bag of spices. Stir well. Bring to a boil and add chopped onions and apples. When booiling vigorously cover tightly, turn off heat and let stand about one hour.(may be boiled longer if you like the onions really soft.
