Paneer Butter Masala Recipe
Ingredients

Whole Green gram(Cherupayar) -1/2 cup
Onion - 1/2
Tomatoes - 2 nos
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Salt - As reqd
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Grated coconut - 3 tbsp
Paneer cubes - 6 nos
Coriander leaves for garnishing

For seasoning:

Butter - 2 tbsp
Garlic pods - 3 nos
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos
Cinnamon(Karugaptta)powder-1/2tsp

Method :

​

1)Pressure cook whole green gam dal.

2)Cut onions lengthwise (thin pieces) and tomatoes into small pieces.

3)Heat butter in a pan.

4)Add ginger, garlic, cloves and cinnamon. Fry for few minutes.

5)Add onions and fry till it becomes soft.

6)Add chopped tomatoes.

7)Sprinkle turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilly powder.

8)Pour 1/2 cup of water with the cooked green gram dal.

9)Add coconut, salt and sugar. Cover the pan and bring it to boil.

10)Finally, add paneer cubes and cook for few minutes.

11)Garnish with coriander leaves.
