Dal Paalak Recipe
Ingredients

Red gram(Thuvaraparippu) - 1/2 cup
Spinach/Paalak(chopped) - 1 cup
Onion - 1 no
Tomato - 1 no
Slit chilly - 1 no
Garlic Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
Salt - As reqd
Sugar - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing

For Seasoning:

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
Fenugreek(Uluva) seeds - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp

Method :

​

1)Cut paalak and cook nicely with enough water.

2)Cook dal in a pressure cooker.

3)Cut tomato and onions finely.

4)Heat oil in a pan.

5)Add all the seasoning ingredients. When it splutters, add onions and chilli. Fry till onions become translucent.

6)Add garlic-ginger paste and fry for another minute.

7)Add finely chopped tomatoes. Stir occasionally, until done.

8)When it is done, add cooked dal and paalak.

9)Pour 1/2 cup of water, salt and sugar and bring it to boil.

10)Garnish with coriander leaves.
