Bitter Gourd Gojju Recipe
Ingredients

Bitter gourd(Pavakka) - 3 - 4 nos
(cut into small pieces)
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) - 2 tsp
Bengal gram(Kadalaparippu) - 2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds(Uluva) - 1 tsp
Sesame seeds(Ellu) - 1 tsp
Dry coconut - 2 tsp
Red chillies(Kollamulaku) - 4 - 5 nos or as reqd
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Tamarind(Puli) - 1 tsp of paste
Jaggery(Sharkkara) - 2 - 3 pieces or as reqd
Salt - As reqd
Oil

Method :

​

1)Heat a little oil in a pan.

2)Add coriander seeds, black gram, Bengal gram, fenugreek seeds, sesame seeds, dry coconut and red chillies.

3)Grind them with turmeric powder and salt.

4)Heat oil in the pan.

5)Add mustard seeds and when they begin to crackle, add black gram, Bengal gram and cumin seeds.

6)Add bitter gourd pieces and fry.

:- The more u fry, the more you can gete rid of the bitterness.

7)Add the ground paste, tamarind juice, jaggery and salt.

8)Boil for some time on medium flame. Keep stiring in between.

:- You can fry chopped onions too with bitter gourd.
