​Batata (Potato) Palya Recipe
Ingredients

​

Potatoes - 2 nos
Onion - 1 no
Peas - 1/2 cup
Salt - As reqd
Sugar - A pinch
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Grated coconut for garnishing

For seasoning:

Oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Red chilly(Kollamulaku) - 1 no
Green chillies - 2 nos

Method :

​

1) Cut onions and green chillies into long, thin pieces.

2) Cook potatoes, peel and mash coarsely.

3) Heat oil in a frying pan.

4) Add all the ingredients for seasoning one by one. When it splutters, add onions. Fry till it becomes translucent.

5) Add peas and fry for few minutes.

6) Add mashed potatoes to it.

7) Add salt, sugar and lime juice. Mix well.

8) Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
