Anise
Ingredients :

400 g (4 cups) pastry flour Anise or fennel seeds
2 packets of baker's yeast
1 packet of baking powder Water
A pinch of salt

Method :

1. Combine the pastry flour with the water, yeast, baking powder and a pinch of salt until it forms a thick dough.
2. Knead the dough; when it starts to get smooth, gather it into a ball. Add a little more flour if necessary so that it doesn't stick to your fingers.
3. Flatten the dough with your hand, sprinkle the anise or fennel seeds over top and knead again.
4. Form into a ball once again and let rise 3 hours.
5. With a sharp knife, cut a criss-cross pattern onto the surface of the bread to facilitate baking.
6. Place in a very hot oven to bake for 30 minutes.
